The support circuitry on the motherboard includes components which are not directly related to information storage or processing, or configuration or control of hardware. This includes individual transistors and capacitors, timing crystals, as well as ~integrated circuit~ chips. These components transfer electricity to and from each component along the ~traces~ of the motherboard.
